jumping over sundials

I’ve had this blog for a while, but as of writing this in june 2026 I’ve decided to resurrect it for the purpose of writing about my summer, posting any photographs I take or thoughts on what I’m reading etc. I’ll likely put out a post about where I’m at in the next few days.

I’m a university student having just finished my first year and majoring in philosophy and film studies. I watch a lot of movies and read a lot of books and write about some of them. Over the summer I’m producing my first EP and I hope to document some of that process, so stay tuned for that as well.

The name jumping over sundials comes from The Great Gatsby, from a line describing to the lush, expansive lawn of Daisy and Tom’s mansion. It was pointed out in the introduction of the copy I read at fourteen and of course it became my tumblr username immediately. Those little phrases you find when you’re very young make themselves part of you (like chain tied around a tree is enveloped) and I like that very much.
